If you haven't hear of iCal, it is a format that allows you to publish your calendar in a format that almost all organisation software understands. The result is that you can push information about your events onto your subscribers calendars.

Sure, a bit more "training" is required to familiarise your customers with iCal, but imagine having your events pushed to your customers calendar, so they don't "forget" your event is on. once iCal gets the same sort of popularity as Social Media (and it will probably need a name like Calendar Sharing) then this sort of promotion has the potential of getting higher attendance.
